Ce n'est pas un homard (This is not a lobster) is an Open Call submission for the Edward James Foundation at West Dean College. The proposal references Salvador Dali’s Lobster Telephone that is owned by the Foundation, as well as referencing Rene Magritte’s Ceci n’est pas une pipe (This is not a pipe). Both Dali and Magritte were key figures in the history of West Dean and were under the patronage of Edward James. The proposal utilises existing scaffolding erected for current renovation works.
