The work is built from a series of freeform horizontal layers, and much like a highrise building use the architectural ideas of shifting, rotating and offsetting. The piece is larger than the viewer and is intended to have a presence with the context of an exterior landscape. The colour is gradated such that the colour balance changes as the viewer moves around the work. The piece deliberately looks very different from various vantage points thereby requiring the viewer to move around the work, thereby adding a temporal element to the viewer’s perception.
