The work mediates and alternates between form and colour. Inspired by a recently viewed retrospective of Mark Rothko, a very narrow chromatic range is used. Chromatic differences are used to emphasise and underscore elements of the form. A phenomenological perception of the work is sought, and the scale, form, and colour work together to involve the viewer. The work needs to be perceived from several angles to comprehend it as a whole, and this introduces a temporal element into the work’s perception.
