Buildings are
about ideas. It is the strength of the underlying idea together with
the clarity of resolution that for me is the measure of a work of
architecture.
Often
a great
work of architecture will on first glance seem very simple. It is only
upon closer inspection that one appreciates the magnitude of the
underlying ideas and understands the effort that is
required
to distill and refine these ideas into a built form.
